Technical Lecture 12 Oct 2017 – Superyacht Design & Commissioning

The first lecture of the 2017/2018 season will be presented by Mr Dean Smith, Managing Director, Royale Oceanic and will be on the topic of Superyacht Design & Commissioning. The lecture will take place on Wednesday 12th October at The Spark, Southampton Solent University.

The talk follows the path usually taken by owners when choosing to commission the design and build of their own fully custom superyacht from the variety of specialist designers and shipyards present in this sector. Focus will be given to the dynamics of the process between the various parties and how those are brought together to form a “team” acting for the owner to ensure the superyacht is delivered successfully especially given that for larger superyachts this can be a five year engineering project.
