Technical Lecture 31 Oct 2017 – Dual Fuel Engine Safety

The combustion process of dual fuel engines will be explored and several marine dual fuel engines will be reviewed. These will include methane-diesel dual fuel and methanol-diesel dual fuel and aspects including emissions, performance and safety will be covered. The processes that affect engine efficiency and gaseous emissions will be explained enabling discussion about possible ways to avoid knocking and NOx formation.
