Technical Lecture 13th March 2018 – Improving Sensor Measurements from Ships and Ocean Gliders
Presented by Dr Ben Moat, National Oceanography Centre
With changes in the world’s climate there is a need to monitor the health of the Oceans. Research ships are expensive to run and can only cover a small part of the globe. In recent years there has been an increase in the number of autonomous underwater vehicles that can be pre-programmed to sample different regions of the ocean.
In this talk the accuracy of the measurements from ships and autonomous underwater vehicles will be discussed.
