The Southern Joint Branch provides support to Branch members in their early stages of their careers; both through the main Branch technical and social events and through tailored events. These include careers events, networking events and technical events. For more information please contact theĀ ECP Representative.

Both RINA and IMarEST provide support for early career professionals and the links are below.
Initial Professional Development
Southern Joint Branch technical lectures are eligible for IPD and certificates are provided on request. It is the responsibility of branch members to ensure that they provide clear names and email addresses in order to receive a certificate.

Working towards Professional Registration?
Professional Review Interviews are required in order to achieve professional registration, i.e. CEng, CMarEng, IEng, IMarEng, EngTech, EngMarTech, CSci, CMarSci, MarTech, RMarTech, CMarTech & RMarSci. Interviews are held by the Southern Joint Branch however they are arranged by our parent organisations. Any questions regarding the scheduling of PRIs should be directed towards either RINA or IMarEST as applicable.

Continuing Professional Development
Both RINA and IMarEST require that members take all reasonable steps to maintain and develop their professional competence and knowledge. The Southern Joint Branch’s technical lectures are eligible for CPD however the responsibility for demonstrating CPD lies with the individual. This means that CPD certificates will not be provided.
